Flâneur

Found situations and moments of chance

A flâneur is someone, who takes a stroll and observes—or sits in a café and watches the world go by. Whilst this does illustrate the physical process, it is, of course, a flippant and possibly condescending description. The flâneur is a collector of observations.

The aim is not to go out with preconceived ideas of what you want to find but to have an open mind for what you may find. Some people see, others stop at looking. Photography is the visual representation of what we see when we look. The photographs in this collection are records of found situations and observations of moments of chance - documentary photography.

This is the first time that I have shown most of these photographs publicly. Publishing this collection is an ongoing project.

Prints

Prints in a limited edition of five are available to buy. The prints are produced in-house by myself. They are numbered and hand-signed and come with a Certificate of Authenticity. For this edition I have chosen Kozo Thick White paper from the Japanese paper mill Awagami.
